This post is intended for people who use Facebook as both a ‘normal’ user with a personal profile page and as a Page Manager. Facebook ‘pages’ are sometimes known as ‘Fan Pages’. It can be confusing at first working out how to share to the desired correct location. In this case, also sharing as the correct role.
Sharing as a Manager directly to your Business ‘Fan’ Page.
Firstly locate the post you wish to share. Beneath that post you will see a layout similar to this.
Click the Share link and a menu will appear. Select the Share… option.
Next Steps, Read Carefully.
In the resulting pop-up window select the drop-down menu (in the top left corner) Share on your Timeline. From the menu select the Share on a Page you manage option.
In the drop-down menu below Share on your Timeline you will see the listing of Facebook Pages that you manage. This may range from one to many. Select which Managed Page you wish to post to. You may also choose to change which person you are Posting as but in general you probably wish to keep the default when you have chosen the Page.
You have the option to add some of your own explanatory text in the Say something about this… field. Once you have completed those tasks you may change your target audience. The default is Public. For most cases this will be the prefered choice.
Once happy with all your choices and ensuring you have followed all of the above steps you may click the Post button. The Post you had selected will now be published on the Page you chose.
Happy? … What to do if it does not work.
Now check your managed page and if it is not there;
- Check your Personal Profile Page, the one you login as.
- Check any other pages you manage.
Once located and if it is in the wrong place.
Select the grey downward chevron in top right hand corner and chose the Delete from Page option. This will remove the Post from your Page and you may start again from scratch.
